Fall Fashion: Coats & Boots!

OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS + RACER JACKET
Kicking things off with a serious statement boot that goes on for days, Tai is wearing an over-the-knee, slouchy boot. The trick to wearing this style this season is either having your hem end far above or well below the very high boot edge! Other than that it’s easy, super warm and slimming on the leg, here paired with a flowy fall dress and a slim fit, faux leather racer jacket. You will also find over-the-knee boot styles in patent, embossed croc and suede.

A SATURATED STORY
Saturated colors are taking things by storm, and whether you wear all one color of a cobalt blue, pink or green, you can also divide it up as I did here on Julia. Lots of double-breasted blazers this season--love the punchy buttons here--, wider-legged pants also a huge trend and a bit of a relief from super skinny jeans, and white midi-boots that pop to complete the look.

SHINY & BRIGHT
Look for camel-colored coats with texture: fluffy or fuzzy or felt and with volume. Placed this voluminous kimono coat atop slim and tailored olive-toned separates, olive being the new neutral. Wrapped things up with a shiny, sleek, to-the-knee boot from Dr. Scholl’s from Macy’s. While to-the-knee boots are always a classic, what makes it different this season is the touch of shine, and shine Starr does!

CLOUD COAT + PLATFORM BOOTS
A cloud coat is like a lighter, fluffier version of a down jacket, and here we find it perfectly paired with THE knitwear for the season: the cable-knit VEST! Add to that a plaid, pleated skirt and these platform combat boots, and I’d say Azura’s look is commanding! Tip: this season, designers--for the most part--ditched the tights and boots as a combo. So show some skin!
